A wonderful love story between the two vampires, Laurie and Mikani. Laurie rescues Mikani and they fall in love instantly. But one problem lies....Mikani is still human. Laurie eventually changes her into a vampire and they are finally able to be happy. But visits from A troublesome Werewolf and a vicious Hunter puts a halt in the festivities.
Laurie and Mikani overcome many obsticles together, but that doesn't mean their relationship can end tragically.

Laurie walked back to his apartment holding Mikani in his arms, he stumbled from time to time but never even thought to stop and take a break. He felt dizzy from the loss of blood. The streets where empty and silent, only the wind was audible, and Laurie shuffling on the sidewalk.
Once he got to his apartment door he set Mikani down and opened it for her.

She staggered inside, making it to one of the chairs in the kitchen"Isn't there someone you can call...?"she panted. Her vision was going, and her back still burned... Not to mention Laurie didn't look so good. He was a pureblood...so why wasn't he healing?

"She gave me life but didn't take away pain...," he thought tripping throught the doorway and shutting the door behind him. "I don't know," he responded to Mikani putting a hand on the wall so he wouldn't fall over, "I've never had to deal wth this before."
He suddenly gasped and put a hand over his chest, he fell to the floor on his hands and knees. Laurie started to cough up blood which spattered onto the floor. Still with a hand on his chest he rested his head on the floor and winced, he was in a lot of pain.

"I need one of your knives..."she didn't have a clue to what she was doing. She wouldn't be able to heal him either, unless there was some small chance that she still had her element...

He turned his head and looked at her with pained eyes, "Theres one... in the bedroom on the chair," he managed to say still trying to keep from coughing. What she didn't know is that the bullet killed him as a result of in piercing his heart, it was very very risky. Laurie started coughing again, blood dripping out of his mouth and onto the floor.

"The bedroom? I...I can't make it that far..."tears were welling in her eyes. "Don't die Laurie...I can't make it alone..."she placed a hand on his wound. Please....I need your help....I need my fire... Mikani was crying now. She was desperate...
Instead of fire, she got a warm light. It reached into the wound, pulling out the bullet and taking Laurie's pain with it. The bullet fell to the floor as the light vanished. She no longer felt the warmth of the light, but hopefully it had been enough to save Laurie...

Laurie coughed a few more times but then stopped, he closed his eyes and smiled, "Thank you," he whispered, almost inaudible. His breathing was normal now, but even through all the action, he fell asleep on the floor.

Laurie opened his eyes slowly, letting his eyes adjust to the light in the room, he looked over and Mikani was at his side sleeping also.
Laurie sighed and stood up slowly, he was dizzy, he lost way too much blood, needless to say he was covered in it. He made his way the the bedroom where he grabbed his knife, then he walked back by the kitchen where Mikani was laying. He flipped her over gently onto her stomach and took her coat off and lifted her shirt up, trying to be careful so she wouldn't wake up, but she was out cold. He found the bullet hole in her back and cut the area around open. He could see the bullet so he dug the blade in a flicked it out onto the floor. He covered her back again with her shirt and let her rest there. "She's already in alot of pain, i'm sure she didn't notice a thing," he thought laying back down on the bloody floor next to her, his knife still in his right hand. He watched her sleep, just to make sure she was okay.

Mikani woke up hours later. "Ugh...I feel awful..."she looked very pale...well, for her at least. She still felt very cold. Her fire had not sparked...

Laurie watched her wake up, he smiled at her gently, "Good morning sleeping beauty," he said softly, his face relieved. He was happy that even though she felt yucky, she was okay.
He noticed that she looked a bit...distanced, "Is something wrong?" he asked, his head still laying in the bloody mess on the floor.

Laurie looked at her confused, "You fire's gone?" he asked standing up, using the wall as his support, "Well...for me being cold is everyday, but I really have no idea why you llost it."
All of a sudden an idea popped into Laurie's head, "Is it because i died right before your eyes?" he asked looking at her serious, "I mean, you always associate me with your fire."
