Laurie eventually changes her into a vampire and they are finally able to be happy. But visits from A troublesome Werewolf and a vicious Hunter puts a halt in the festivities.
Laurie and Mikani overcome many obsticles together, but that doesn't mean their relationship can end tragically.

Drake walked swiftly form the kitchen back to the recovery room where Kai slept. He stopped in the doorway and smiled warmly when he saw her. "I'm glad you're okay now, Kai," he whispered under his breath. Drake wandered over to her bed and laid next to her, and wrapped his arm around her waist slowly, so he wouldn't wake her up. "I really missed you Kai, i'm glad you're with me now, I was worried...," he whispered, not knowing if she was listening or not, "...and I went through everything to find you."

He sighed, "Whatever you say, love," he replied smiling gently, "Lets get going, we'll probably se someone on our way out." Drake got off the bed and held his arms out to her, "Would you like me to carry you, well, if you're still tired?"

Drake chuckled softly and pulled the blankets back, "I'll carry you then." He slipped his arms under her back and the bend in her legs, "You rest now, i'll get you to someplace safe." He walked out of the room slowly, as to be careful not to disturb her too much.
