They take a long time to get to know each other, Drake making many mistakes that could have been fatal for their relationship, Kai being kidnapped or transformed by the evil being within her...Syn. Syn is then gone, but comes back full force to despose of Kai.

“Come on Dan!” Wined a little voice in the large crowd of people. A little boy with dark brown hair was tugging on an older boys hand. He had shaggy black hair and brown eyes. A little girl with curly blond hair and light green eyes was clinging to his back “Not now Mark.” Dan replied in a stern voice. “We have to find mom and dad.” Dan quickly grabbed Marks hand and pulled him along. Finally they made it to an open area. Dan let go of marks hand and set the little girl down on the ground. She looked up at him with wide eyes. “Where’s mommy and daddy?’ She asked in a soft voice. Dan bent down and cupped her face in his hands. “Don’t worry Emily. We’ll find them.” He said with a smile. “Mark…” Whispered a soft voice. Mark turned and looked around. “Mommy?” He asked the empty air. Dan turned and looked at Mark. “What’s wrong Mark?” He asked. “Mark didn’t answer he just continued to look around to try and find the voice. “Come here Mark…” whispered that strange voice. Suddenly Mark bolted toward the strange voice. “Mommy! Where are you?” He yelled. “Mark wait!” Dan yelled. Dan quickly scooped up Emily in his arms and ran after Mark. “Come here Mark…” Whispered the voice. Mark ran even faster. The voice was getting closer. “Mark…” Mark turned into one of the dark alleys and bumped into a dark figure. He clung to their legs and he wouldn’t let go. The figure lightly placed their pale white hands on his shoulders and head. “Mark!” Dan yelled as he ran into the alley after him. He quickly stopped when he saw the shadowed figure Mark was clinging to. Emily was crying in his arms. The figure looked up at Dan and Emily with crimson red eyes. Her platinum hair seemed to glow in the dark shadows. A sweet smile was spread across her face. “Hello.” The woman whispered. She was wearing a long trench coat that covered most of her body. She was also wearing combat boots that seemed to big for her. He long platinum hair was pulled back into a tight braid. This woman was of a different kind of beauty...a dangerous beauty.
Syn gracefully bent down to Mark and lightly kissed his forehead. He looked up and saw that this woman was not his mom. He looked up at her in surprise. “Your not—“ Mark started to say but Syn placed a slim finger to his lips. “It’s ok.” She said with a sweet smile. Mark let go of her and looked up at her with wide eyes. Syn lightly patted his head. Dan watched her cautiously. “Mark come here.” A hint of fear showed in his voice. He held out his hand and Mark ran over to him and took it. Emily was still crying in Dan’s arms. Syn gave a small giggle. She gracefully walked over to Dan, Mark, and Emily. She lightly caressed Emily’s cheek. “Hush little one.” She whispered to the weaping child. Slowly Emily’s crys died down and they turned into soft whimpers. Dan was in shock…was it because of her beauty or was it fear… Syn looked up into Dan’s eyes. Her crimson eyes seemed to burn right through his brown one. She gave him a sweet smile. “Don’t be afraid.” She said softly. “I’m here to help you.” She said softly. Dan could smell her sweet breath. He seemed to get pulled into a spell by looking into her eyes. Syn brushed her fingers across his cheek. He looked downa t Emily to hide his face. Syn gave a small giggle and placed three fingers under his chin. "You don't have to be emberessed." Syn tilted his head back up. She looked into his eyes and weaved her magic over him. Their blood is mine. Slowly Dan's eyes seem to change. They seemed to glaze over making him foget everything going on around him. Syn bent over him and lightly brushed her lips across his nack. A strange shiver ran through his bady. Her lips were cold against his warm skin.
Suddenly, Syn can feel the ground shaking violently underneath her. Was it an earthquake? Maybe! However, earth spikes were rushing towards her. So, it wasn't an earthquake. It was an attack by an earth user, but who is it? Syn can't see anyone--yet.

Syn grabbed Dan, Mark, and Emily out of the way of the earth. "I know this..." She hissed. Dan was really confused. quickly Syn put them on the ground softly and turned around violently. "I know your heres" She hissed into the darkness. Her eyes burned deep red with fury.
The same attack headed for Syn. "I know you're the same as ever, Syn." A cool voice replied "You're still being the monster that I saw not too long ago." Syn can't pinpoint the location of the voice, but she knew it. It belonged to Ariel.

Syn ran for the shadows and let out a loud giggle. "Ah Airel...good to see...well fight with you again." She pulled her hood up over her platinum hair. She stuck her hand in her jacket and wrapped it around one of the several guns she had on her body.
Ariel was not there. "Going for a weapon?" Ariel said "Pathetic!" Ariel made the ground shake, and Syn can hear something coming for her. This time, it was a huge wave of earth.

Syn gave a big grin. She reached into her jacket and pulled out a weird looking gun. She shot up into the air and a small hook attached to a wire came from the gun. It wrapped around one of the many emergency exit stairs. As quickly as it shot up it recoiled and pulled Syn out of the sinking ground. Syn gracefully landed on the railing and the wire and hook shot back into the gun.

Syn put her gun back into her jacket and stood there. No! cried that familiar voice in her head. She held her hands up and suddenly the spikes stopped. They plummeted to the ground. Syn had a surprised expression. "Well well...this is new." She giggled.

Syn stop! screamed a voice in her head. Syn didn't even flinch. Syn held onto the raining and stood on the railing. She scanned the darkness and buildings. "I have a question for yous Ariel." She giggled.
Dan broke from Syn's spell and grabbed Mark and Emily. He ran as fast as he could.

"When we first met you didn't try to kill me. But you are now...why is that." She asked. Syn jumped down onto the emergency stairs and held onto the railing as the rocking grew stronger.
