A wonderful love story between the two vampires, Laurie and Mikani. Laurie rescues Mikani and they fall in love instantly. But one problem lies....Mikani is still human. Laurie eventually changes her into a vampire and they are finally able to be happy. But visits from A troublesome Werewolf and a vicious Hunter puts a halt in the festivities.
Laurie and Mikani overcome many obsticles together, but that doesn't mean their relationship can end tragically.

"Come...come on..." Mikani stumbled through the park, slightly intoxicated. She reached up and tugged at the pink glowing ring abound her neck until it gave and fell off. She leaned against a tree and closed her eyes halfway.
That had been some rave. But damn, they'd played good music. And some of the guys were damn fine too.
She placed a hand on the trunk of the tree, feeling dizzy from her drinks. How much had she had? Just one or two. She shouldn't have been feeling so drunk... Ugh...maybe I didn't eat enough before drinking... she thought, closing her eyes. Shoulder length black hair fell in her face, damp from the fire alarm going off. That had triggered the sprinklers, which made dancing all the more fun.
"Please Baby Doll?" a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind, trying to lift up her white shirt. "I said no!" she pulled away and stumbled. The guy was persistent, this time trying to untie the ice blue ribbons on her shoulders.
"Come on Baby. Let's just do it right here. Right now. No one's around," he whispered sweetly in her ear, but Mikani refused to listen. She pulled away, but he grabbed her by the wrists. "N-no! Let me go, damnit!" Why was she feeling so weak? Had he...had he spiked her drinks!?
Damnit...damnit all...she couldn't fight back, and now her had her pinned to the ground.
At least she had energy to yell, "Get...off me you creep!"

Laurie slowly got up from the park bench in the shadows under a large oak tree. He fluffed his rusty brown hair and wiped at his eyes. He had been sleeping for about a hour and well you got to get up sometime. His crimson shirt collar rustled in the wind and his black combat boots scratched the ground lightly as he slowly but surely started to walk down the nearby path by the stream.
Laurie heard the screams of a woman coming from somewhere nearby and he decided to find her. Yes he is a vampire and he knows it to, but something inside him wants to save the helpless. his pace quickened into a swift sprint.
"I hope she's okay," he thought to himself finally closing in on the distress signal.
He stopped.
There was the source of the screams. This woman was pinned on the ground by a man who looked seriously high and wasted. Laurie walked up to the man and pushed him off.
"Leave her alone you thug, or do i have to kill you," Laurie said eyes blazing a deep blue, he could hear the man's heart race and could feel the blood pulse beneath his skin.
"Mmmn...a nice tasty snack, but I'd have to purify this one," he thought as a shiver rushed through his body. Laurie could eat human food, but human blood tasted so much better, the preference was like beer to wine.

Did that man just say....kill? The color drained from Mikani's face at the thought. Her eyes widened. Even though she was out of it, she still got the feeling that he...wasn't human. She sat up and used to arms to move back. It wasn't an easy task. Mikani was trembling.
"Leggo, buddy. I saw 'er first!" he shouted in protest, curling his hands into fists.
Don't....please don't kill him.... Mikani wanted to shout to the strangely perfect man before her...but the words...her mouth wouldn't form the words. Street smart Mikani had been scared stiff...

Laurie instantly notice her fear and shot her a look of apology. Since the man was putting up in defense Laurie lunged at him (with amazing speed that could top any car) and grabbed they collar of the man's shirt. Laurie pulled the man to his face, nose to nose.
"Don't you start a fight with me now," Laurie said playfully, "You have no idea what you're up against."
Laurie's eyes started to change to a deep purple, which was totally different from his normal ice blue eyes. Laurie could feel the human's blood run faster and faster, and his heart race quicker and quicker.

"L-Leggo!" he was starting to get freaked out. He aimed a few punches at Laurie. No one moved that fast. At least...nothing human. "Freak!" his heart was pounding now, and he was panicking.
Mikani's heart was racing too. This guy...he wasn't a werewolf....then...
"Vampire..." she breathed, her voice airy and full of fear. But he'd saved her. He couldn't be all bad, right? Right? She tried to stand, but her legs felt like jell-o...and shook like it to. down she fell once again. Blood was going to be spilled....she could feel it.

Laurie gave the man a 'i can't believe you're trying to fight me look'. Laurie ran swiftly and quietly a bit of distance away from the man.
"Hey," Laurie said in a playful tone once again to get the man's attention.
The man looked shocked beyond reason. Laurie threw him a rock, and while the man was preoccupied, he ran up to him.
Laurie grabbed the mans head with both hands like he was going to kiss him. "Gottcha," he said with cocky tone. And with that Laurie head smacked him and threw him to the ground. he started to slowly walk up to the helpless and scared woman.

Mikani tried to back away, but her body refused to listen to her brain.
Come on....move....please move! her thoughts were screaming for her limbs to work. He was coming closer. And closer. And closer still. The guy was out cold...but what was going to happen to her?
Her eyes were open wide with fear. "Please..." she found her voice again "...please don't hurt me..." she finally managed to choke out a sentence.

Not hearing anything she said, Laurie kept walking closer. "Please...don't be afraid," he said stretching out a friendly, but scarred hand. He was burned back when he was 17, "I don't want to hurt you."
He hoped that she would calm down, and let him speak, but i guess the unconscious man laying just a few feet from her was enough to try and stay away from him.
Laurie let out another trusting sentence, "I'm sorry if i scared you." His hair was being ruffled by the sudden strong gust of wind from the east. You'd think he would have been cold with his shirt halfway unbuttoned.

"Wait...." in an instant she'd stopped freaking out. "Did you...Did you just apologize?" she raised a brow, curious now. Now that she looked at him, with his hair blowing in the wind, he really was quite handsome. She reached up with her own hand and grasped his outstretched hand.
"Oh! I'm sorry....thank you for saving me."She stared at the scar on his hand. She was so tempted to ask...but it would be rude...

Laurie generously pulled her to her feet.
"You have no need to apologize," he said warmly, his eyes now back to a beautiful ice color. He walked her over to a nearby park bench and sat down.
He noticed that she was looking at his scar. "I'll tell you about it if your willing to listen," he said letting go of her hand.
The moon shone through the tree by the bench, lighting only his face. As pale as he was, he sure couldn't have ever burned from the sunlight. The wind calmed shortly and left a red maple leaf sitting in Laurie's lap.

"Oh...I didn't mean to stare...but I am interested in listening." She looked at his eyes, amazed by their color. She blushed sheepishly. First he saves her and then he escorts her to a bench. what next? She was also just a little sad that he let go of her hand. Just a little.
He's so...pale. She felt ashamed of her toasted marshmallow skin color.

He hesitated to speak but then it all came out.
"I used to live in Geneva, France, right on the border of Switzerland. I lived in a mansion out by the forest, and we loved it there. but one day word got out that we were vampires." His voice got tense and he lifted the red leaf of his lap. "The townspeople came and waited outside out home screaming and yelling at us to turn ourselves in. Our family fled into the woods for we feared our lives, but we forgot one thing, our family book, the book that has been written in and passed down for centuries." Laurie's calm face turned to a frown. "My brother tried to stop me, but i ignored him and left them in the woods. I ran silently through the woods and around into the house. I found the book, and held it tight." His hand now crushed the crimson red leaf. "I didn't know that there were guards out the back, so i walked out, and took one quick look back and the i was shot at with acidic bullets in my back and shoulder. I fell and dropped the book, and i desperately tried to grab the book but a guard shot at my hand with another bullet." His face turned painful. "You have no idea how bad acid burns the skin, that guards lit the book on fire and left me there to burn with the house, because they set the house on fire too. but i got out, and here i am siting before you," he finished releasing his painful expression into something more normal.
Laurie gave Mikani a gentle smile and brushed his hair out of his face.

"Laurie...." she reached up was about to touch his shoulder when she drew back nervously. "I'm very sorry that happened to you..."what did she have to say for herself? All she was...was a spoiled little rich girl who got everything she wanted. And what did she do? She threw it away and went out to party with strangers.
"Story of my life,"she muttered to herself. "I can't imagine how painful that was. And how hard it must have been to lose your history....and everything..."

Laurie scoffed, "I can't even find my own brother." He sprinkled the remains of the red leaf onto the ground, but was instantly swept up by the wind that had picked up again.
"I don't wish to burden you with my pain," he said tilting his head to the side. his crimson shirt slipped slightly off his shoulder and showed his many burn marks. He quickly noticed and slipped his shirt back up.
He leaned back on the wooden park bench, tilted his head back, and sighed. "I hope I'm not scaring you anymore," Laurie said closing his eyes, he sighed again.
The wind stopped short and it started to snow. He held out his hand and caught some flakes, and they did not melt.
Laurie wanted to explain that before Mikani asked about it, "You have already found out that I'm a vampire, but i am also part of ice and snow. I may have human like skin, but truly i have no body heat, so snowflakes just rest upon my skin, instead of melt." He lifted his head forward and opened his eyes to meet hers.

She found herself blushing at his gaze, "You're not burdening me with your pain, Laurie." She had no pain...well...none that she knew of, "And no...I'm not frightened by you. Even if you're a vampire of snow and ice." She reached out and touched his hand with hers. He really was cold...
She shivered, not at the cool temperature of his skin, but at the wind. "If I had known it was going to snow I would have brought a jacket." She blushed sheepishly and gave a little giggle.
