A wonderful love story between the two vampires, Laurie and Mikani. Laurie rescues Mikani and they fall in love instantly. But one problem lies....Mikani is still human. Laurie eventually changes her into a vampire and they are finally able to be happy. But visits from A troublesome Werewolf and a vicious Hunter puts a halt in the festivities.
Laurie and Mikani overcome many obsticles together, but that doesn't mean their relationship can end tragically.

She looked around as they entered the station. At least it was warm.....
"EEEE!"she let out a squeak as a rat ran buy, and waited for Laurie to return with her ticket. She took it in her hand and before she knew what was happening, he was sitting on a bench. She chose to remain standing, not wanting to get her skirt dirty.
"Wrong reasons?"she looked a little offended"What do you think I'd do? Go kill my family!? I want to escape! Not slaughter people!"her voice raised slightly. "I'm not that kind of person. Once I change...I'm going to live my life...the way I want to live. Not the way anyone else wants me to..."

Laurie held his hands up in surrender, "You misunderstood, i meant that you might have wanted to come to my apartment because of how you felt about me."
"Oh god, someone kill me, " He thought silently to himself, while cringing waiting for a slap in the face.
Laurie couldn't look at Mikani, he felt like she hated him just for that one comment.
He pulled at his armband, as his nervousness made him occasionally do.

She inhaled deeply, her chest rising and staying that way as she held her breath. Her eyes were narrowed as she frowned. Normally, Mikani would have yelled. But not this time...
She exhaled and closed her eyes. "I see..."she put her hands in her pockets and opened her eyes halfway.
She liked him, sure, but not like that. At least...not yet. His comment stung. She wasn't that kind of girl.
I'm not a whore-ish slut... she moved her eyes so that she was staring out of the corners, to the left. Maybe there'd be something to distract her from this....unfolding drama.

He looked down at his feet for a moment and then met her eyes. "I'm sorry....I..I don't think your that kind of girl," He said with sincerity in his gaze.
A subway train coming in from the Iceglade mountains roared and screeched to hault. People got off in a bustle and pushed their way to the stairs up to the city.
Laurie didn't know what to do, he was stuck.
"I'll go home by myself if you'd like," he let out a soft chuckle, "I would understand i you'd like me to leave." he stood up and and smoothly walked a bit past Mikani then stopped.

"Oh no!"she chimed, and gave a cheeky grin"You're not leaving me that easily."she strolled over and linked arms with him, almost hugging it. She was soooo close to freedom. And she wasn't about to lose it.
"Thank you for thinking I'm not that kind of girl. Because I'm really not. Sure...I've done stupid things. But I'm a rebel."she winked.
"Besides, I want to see the lair of a vampire with my own eyes."she let go of him and spun around once as she stepped forward. When she stopped, she was facing him, smiling like nothing had happened.

He looked suprised by her instant reaction to him almost leaving. He smiled warmly and turned around.
"You know, my "lair" doesn't look any different than a human's apartment," he said letting out a soft chuckle.
He brushed his hair out of his face once again, and strolled over to the bench again and sat down. It was true, his apartment looked normal, it had a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and everything else a normal house would have inside, but his furniture was of high quality and expensive.
He had always thought of himself as having an expensive taste.

"Well...I've never seen the inside of a vampire's house."she stolled over and stood in front of him. "Probably nicer than my place. The damn manor was always too big for my liking. Believe it or not I'm a simple girl with simple tastes.
Ha! Yeah right. She enjoyed the finer things in life. But she didn't mind having average things either...
"You know...I like being with you Laurie. I don't know why, but I do."it was nice to have someone to actually talk to. At home...they were more...stiff "Eat your dinner." kind of talks.

"Why would I want you to leave?"she sat down next to him. When people started staring at him, she turned a shade of red and moved closer to him and held onto his arm, half resting against him and half jealously guarding him.
It was now that she felt tired. She hadn't slept before going to the rave, and it had to be getting light out. "I'm...kinda tired. So....wake me up when the train gets here....m'aky?"her voice was airy. After all, she'd started yawning quite a bit. She closed her eyes and drifted off.

He looked down on her, "Okay, get some sleep, but when you get to my apartment, i need to to rest some more, i need you in full strength."
He tilted his head and rested it on hers. He kept a close watch over her, like a guardian.
People came and went, as train by train passed the crowded station. Its was getting light out so some of the Merchants were starting to move out into the sunlight.
Laurie like dark desolate places, while the station was not so much desolate, it was rather dark, most of the light coming from half working flourescent bulbs.
Time went on, 15 minutes perhaps, and finally the right train stopped loudly, screaching to a hault just like the other trains.
Laurie gently whispered in Mikani's ear, "Wake up, its time to go," he pulled her up, "You can sleep more at my place."

"Nnnnnnn?"she opened her eyes and rubbed her eyes sleepily"The train's here? M'kay....let's go...."she was still half asleep...and looked it too. Her black hair was a little messy, and she sounded really out of it.
"Lead the way."she yawned.
Yes. Mikani was slow to wake up. And no....she wasn't a morning person. Not one little bit.

He stood up and lifted her on her feet.
"Alright, here we go," He said flashing a cute smile. Laurie grabbed Mikani's hand gently, and he started walking towards the subway train door.
The train was a silver metal that really needed a clean.
Laurie grabbed Mikani's ticket out of her hand and gave both of their tickets to a man in a blue suit, with a black visored cap; He looked like a cop.
He pulled Mikani into the train and found a comfy seat to sit in. The inside was apolstered with a beautiful red fabric and the seats were soft black leather. The inside of the train surely made up for the outside.

As soon as they got on the train Mikani sat down. She rested her head against the headrest and closed her eyes. "Wake me...when we get there....please...."her voice grew quiet as she drifted off again.
A teen walked onto the train. His skin was an ivory color, and his shaggy black hair hung in his eyes. With a quick flick of his head his cold black eyes were revealed. He shoved his hands deep into the pockets of his baggy tan pants and walked to a seat near Mikani and Laurie. He sat down and stared off into space.
The teen's attire was rather normal, baggy tan pants and a black t-shirt...but what was odd was the fact that he wore a ragged black cloak that fell to his waist and greek-style brown leather sandles.
But stranger yet were the three oval-shaped clay masks tied to his belt. They were hanging on a leather cord, but tied to his belt none the less...

Laurie looked at Mikani with suprise, "How can himan's sleep this much," He thought, "The only time i can actually "sleep" is if i drink enough wine."
He giggled, he remembered the last time he did that.
Laurie noticed a stange teen get on the train and instantly knew who he was, a werewolf. He could smell it, that stench. He frowned and watched the stranger carefully.
"Whats with those masks?" Laurie thought to himself. Thank goodness Mikani was asleep, he didn't want her to see him like this, all angry over something insignificant.
